Hi.
I have uploaded a PDF file in Content > Files then copied the Shopify link to the file into an email. When I click on the link in the email the file opens in the cdn.shopify.com window in my browser but the name of the file is not what the file was saved as and has reverted to a Microsoft Word.docx name with a long list of numbers that wasn’t even the name of the word doc I originally converted to a PDF.
When my customers opens this file on their computer the name of the file has no relevance to the document and is very confusing especially if someone is working on the macro in the pdf document. Then when downloading or saving the file it reverts back to the file name in Shopify. Why is the file reverting to a Word.docx file name when the file view window is open?
We have had a similar thing happen with another file that we created in Canva and saved with a new name and downloaded the file. We uploaded the file to Shopify and when the file is opened from a link copied from Shopify, the opened file name is the original design template name from Canva which looks very unprofessional and bears no relevance to the new content of the file. Any suggestions?
I’m working on Macbook Pro. I have not tried this on any other computer so not sure if this is an Apple issue.
Thanks
Nikki
This is the file name in Shopify>Content>Files
This is what it looks like in when the link opens in the browser search bar

This is how the file name is displayed at the top of the open file window
This is the name it reverts back to when downloading and saving the file
