I have products that have options for discounts with a re-occurring subscription. I use a flat shipping option. when customers setup a subscription the incorrect rate is being charged, the subscriptions are using an economy rate instead of my flat rate. I probably had the economy rate at one time but it is no longer an option.
Topic summary
-
Issue: Subscription orders are being charged an old “economy” shipping rate instead of the merchant’s current flat rate. The economy option may have existed previously but is no longer intended to be used.
-
Context: Products offer discounted recurring subscriptions; the store uses a flat shipping option for standard orders.
-
Likely cause: A shipping profile assignment is causing subscriptions to pull an outdated rate rather than the flat rate.
-
Suggested steps:
- Go to Settings > Shipping > Custom Profile > Manage Products and identify which shipping profile each affected product uses.
- Open that profile and verify the Location, Inventory Zone, and the Rate applied to those products (especially for subscriptions).
- Update the profile to ensure the flat rate is the active rate, removing or deactivating any economy rate remnants.
-
Status: Unresolved; troubleshooting guidance provided, awaiting merchant verification.
Reasons may vary. Check Settings >> Shipping >> Custom Profile >> Manage Products >> search for the Product to determine which profile it is using.
Then go to that Profile. Check which Location/Inventory Zone/Rate it is using.
