I have now max 24 showing products on my featured page, i would like to increase that number, i have read several solution, but not one of them is working for me. How can i do this ?

Not sure what you read but it’s simple. You need to check the code, find the limit set in it, change it accordingly and it will work.

I can not find exactly where to change it, the solutions i found is not the code i have and i did not change anything, so, i just can not find exactly where to do that. 
Code location depends on the theme you are using.

If you’d like to increase the amount of products being shown in your featured product page and you’re limited to only show 24 and can’t show more then there are two options which can help you out. First of all, you should check theme customization. If your theme doesn’t allow to show more than 24 products then you need to make some changes in the code files. You need to locate the section of the featured products and change the limit to however you like. Let me know if you require any further assistance.

btw I think you need to change the limit in featured collection not in featured product.
To change it please follow:
- Edit featured-collection.liquid under Sections
- Search for 25 and replace it with value less than 48
or manually search for this

Yes, i know in featured-collection.liquid, and that is where my problem starts, i do not have a code there with the id"products to show"

Then you are on a wrong track maybe you did customization.
I suggest reinstall the theme or use this code ( Dawn theme version 11.00 )

I saw i did not have the latest version of dawn, if i want to set the new version some things are changing again, it will not take over all changes. Is there a way to do that easily ?
I have updated to dawn newest version, now my store doesn’t work anymore, lost a lot of thing and i do not know how to solve it quicky, is there an option to go back to my old version, i cannot find how to do that

Don’t do any change if you are not aware about the flow or code.
Simply share your requirements to a developer and he will do it.
