Increased Add to Carts - Limited Conversions

Greetings, we just implemented a site redesign based on recommendations from Oddit. We’re currently running Advantage Plus Sales campaigns and Google Shopping which are still both in the learning phase.

We’ve noticed an increase in Add to Carts instead of sales conversions. Wondering if anyone coukd take a peak at our site navigation and cart and provide any recommendations or if youre seeing any technical issues with the Cart?

We offer free shipping on all orders and our site speed is 90%+ on page speed insights. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I tested it and there is no issue with the cart.

Hi @Tailgatetikes

I understand that you’ve recently implemented a site redesign and are running Advantage Plus Sales campaigns and Google Shopping, which are still in the learning phase. Despite noticing an increase in Add to Carts, there hasn’t been a corresponding rise in sales conversions. Here are a few steps and recommendations to address your concerns:

Site Navigation and Cart Review1. User Experience (UX) Audit

  • Important categories and products should be easily accessible within two clicks.
  • Check for any broken links or pages that may lead to user frustration.
  1. Product Pages

    • Highlight the free shipping offer prominently.
  2. Cart Page

    • Simplify the checkout process to reduce friction.
    • Add trust badges and security seals to reassure customers.
    • Display the free shipping information clearly on the cart page.
  3. Technical Issues

    • Test the cart functionality on different devices and browsers.
    • Check for any script errors or loading issues using browser developer tools.

Adding the Shopify Discount Coupon On Cart app can improve the user experience and increase your sales conversions. By displaying available discount coupons directly on the cart page, you can create a sense of urgency and encourage customers to complete their purchases to avail of the discounts. Customers no longer need to search for discount codes; having them readily available on the cart page simplifies the process and reduces cart abandonment.

You can configure the app to show higher discount values for larger cart amounts, encouraging customers to add more items to their cart to get better discounts. The app allows for customization to match your store’s branding, ensuring a seamless integration that doesn’t disrupt the visual appeal of your site.

If you need further assistance or a more detailed analysis, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Ina

Hi @Tailgatetikes

Congrats on the redesign. The site looks really great. I have checked out your cart flow and it works well with smooth flow and speedy loading time. Nothing has to worry about this.

Website speed is great

However, I notice some problems in UX that you can consider changing:

  1. CTA misplace

The CTA button is hard to notice when placed in the top left corner of the site. It also looks misplaced and awkward while scrolling down.

  • You can consider placing it in the center in the hero section

  • And place the sticky CTA button in the navigation. It is visually better and also great for user experience

2. Add a pop-up banner

This can be particularly useful when you need to highlight special offers, discounts, or new product launches, increasing the chance of conversion. However, overusing pop-ups can interrupt the browsing experience, so make sure the pop-ups are well-designed and don’t appear too often

3. Optimize customer support section

I can see that you’ve already created a Chat widget. However, you can make it even better by adding a FAQ page or a Contact Us page. I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a free support, FAQ & Helpdesk App. MooseDesk provides auto-reply features during non-business hours, a proactive help center, and a user-friendly widget layout, offering an effective solution to enhance customer support on your platform.

You can add a widget that contain FAQ like this with MooseDesk:

  • Or you can easily create and customize FAQ/Contact Us page within 5 minutes with appealing templates:

As an expert/enthusiast in UX, I recommend implementing these changes to improve customer experience when scrolling through your store.

Thank you for reading. Wish you a nice day ahead!

MooseDesk - All-in-one Shopify FAQ & Helpdesk App

Thank you so much for the feedback! Looking at the SHOP ALL CTA we have it in the header footer, and on our end, testing in Chrome desktop shows that it’s in the correct position (see attached). If you don’t mind, could you let me know what device/browser you’re viewing so I can provide this feedback to our developer?

We’ll get to work on our Chat improvement, and we do have a pop up banner that shows to visitors once they hit 19% scroll depth on the page.
