how to set it up? it doesn’t seem it’s possible at all without contacting the developer.
Hi, @ytcrocks !
If you create a collection, ensuring it’s active and set to available on the online store sales channel, it is possible to only show this collection to those with the link.
To do this, you’ll need to make sure that this collection you’ve created isn’t included in any other collections. Such as a collection that contains all products. You may have to edit your existing collections to ensure this. Further, you’ll need to make sure there are no links to this collection in your menus and links, or on your home page.
Once you’ve ensured these products won’t appear in any other collections, or in your navigation, simply share the collection link. You can find this link by:
- Heading to Products > Collections.
- Open the specific collection by clicking the collection title.
- Under Search engine listing preview, you can see the full URL in green.
- Copy and paste this full URL (starting with the https://) to share it.
Here is a screenshot of where I mean:
Note that anyone who has this link can access the collection, not just those who you specifically share it with. If you’d like to block others from seeing a collection without specific credentials, you can either reach out to your developer as you mentioned, or use a page lock app such as Locksmith from the Shopify App Store.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Hi Hilary,
I really like your approach to solve the asked problem. Thanks! There is one thing that makes me confused and that is:
What if the user is a technical person and he/she enters the following URLs :
Store-name/collections/all
and
Store-name/collections/all
Hence user can visit all products and collections.
So, is there anyway that we can solve this problem too?
Any kind of help will be appreciated ![]()
Doesn’t this allow anyone to find the products in the collection via a search in my store?
