Inksoft or DecoNetwork features but using Shopify

Topic summary

A screen printing and embroidery shop is seeking Shopify alternatives to DecoNetwork and Inksoft, specifically wanting decorator-focused pricing setup and online design tools for customers.

Platform Comparisons Shared:

  • DecoNetwork: Recently launched a beta Shopify order import feature. Praised for having the best data infrastructure among plug-and-play options, but criticized for outdated UI and limited customization control even with paid custom sites.

  • Inksoft: Offers the best UI and online designer but struggles with production management for high-volume orders. Can now import orders into Printavo, improving workflow through Zapier and automation. Lacks built-in smart purchasing or live supplier inventory management.

Key Takeaway:

No perfect solution exists—businesses must choose platforms aligned with their priorities and build custom systems around limitations. One respondent developed a custom Shopify site integrated with their own production system after years of testing available options.

The discussion remains open with users expressing interest in learning more about custom implementations.

Hello,

We are a screenprinting, embroidery, transfers, banners, etc shop that have used DecoNetwork and Inksoft for our website. We like that it’s tailored to decorators as far as the pricing set-up and the online designer for the customer. Are there any solutions on shopify that mirror what is being done with Inksoft and DecoNetwork?

please share a example for better understanding or link of a site

Great question! I searched for this answer for years, switching back and forth between Inksoft, Printavo, and DecoNetwork, trying to find the best solution. But we always ran into limitations, especially when it came to marketing, tracking key metrics, and truly understanding where the money is coming from.

That’s why we built our own Shopify website integrated with our custom production system: www.printeez.com

Breakdown of the options I’ve tested:

  • DecoNetwork just released a beta version that allows Shopify order imports, which is a huge step forward. In my opinion, Deco has the best data infrastructure in the plug-and-play market. However, the downside is the UI—it feels outdated and isn’t as flexible as Shopify’s. You can pay for a custom site on Deco, but you’ll never have full control over the platform.
  • Inksoft has the best UI and online designer but one of the worst production management systems for scaling high-volume orders. The good news is that Inksoft orders can now be imported into Printavo, which significantly improves workflow. Using Zapier & status automation rules in Printavo makes the process much more efficient. The downside? No built-in smart purchasing POs or live inventory management from suppliers, meaning you have to manually configure everything.

So, what’s the best solution?

There isn’t a perfect one, you have to pick the platform that aligns best with your needs and build systems around its strengths. Either adapt to its limitations or develop your own hybrid setup (like we did) to get the best of both worlds.
