Inquiry About Theme and Tool Integration in Shopify

Dear Community Team

I am currently using a free Shopify theme but plan to upgrade to a paid theme, such as the Gem Theme, and potentially use additional tools like Easify Product or other Shopify-integrated features in the future.

I would like to know if adding all our products to the free theme now would require re-entering them when switching to a paid theme and integrating additional tools. Will the transition be seamless, or will we need to manually update our products again in the new theme?

I’m concerned about the potential disruption this may cause, so I’d appreciate your guidance on the best approach.

Looking forward to your advice.

Hey @AdamTeam

Switching themes have nothing to do with products as products are completely a different part on your store so no matter whatever theme you choose, you don’t have to do anything in your products as they will always be visible on every theme.

Best Regards,

Moeed

Hello @AdamTeam

Your product data (titles, descriptions, images, pricing, variants, etc.) is stored in Shopify’s backend, so switching to a paid theme won’t require you to re-enter them. However, the design, layout, and customizations (like sections, fonts, and colors) will reset when you switch themes, meaning you’ll need to set those up again. Most Shopify-integrated apps, like Easify Product, should continue working seamlessly, but some theme-dependent customizations may need adjustments. To minimize disruption, test the new theme in preview mode before publishing, and back up any custom code or settings you may need to reapply
