Inserting 'sale ad' intermittently through product listing page

Hello!

I’m trying to figure out how to insert ads throughout certain product listing pages for when my shop has sales and promotions going on. I’ve attempted to use the ‘accentuate custom fields’ app but haven’t been able to get it to work. If anyone could provide some guidance on how to get started with accomplishing this that would be great!
