Introducing Passonext: A Digital Product Passport (DPP) App for Shopify

Hey Everyone,
I am one of the developers from PassoNext, It’s a Shopify app for creating and managing Digital Product Passports.

As DPP requirements (EU ESPR, Battery regulation, textiles) are starting to affect more categories, and Shopify has no native feature for this. Until now, merchant had to build something custom which is complex to build and maintain. We built PassoNext after finding a gap ourselves.

What it will do: you can create passport for each of your product inside Shopify , with AI and bulk DPP generation options. The app also generate a QR code for your packaging or anywhere you need to help meet EU DPP requirements. When regulations or product data change, you can update the passport in one place.

  • Are you preparing for DPP yet, or waiting until deadlines are closer?
  • What kind of features would you expect from a DPP app that aren’t available today?

This looks like a useful app for merchants selling in the EU. I think the biggest challenge will be keeping product data accurate and up to date as regulations evolve. Integrating with Shopify metafields would make managing DPPs even easier.

Yes you are right - DPP is new requirement and rules are still evolving. but we have tried to provide default templates for different product categories which should help merchant to get started

On metafield: PassoNext already integrates with Shopify metafields, so you can use your existing product data for DPPs.

Have you come across DPP requirements in any of your projects yet?
