printqr is a Shopify app that generates a QR code and attaches it to a product automatically, the moment the product is created — no manual step. It’s aimed specifically at merchants who print packaging, shelf tags, or inserts that link to a product page: the usual path is a free QR generator you use by hand, which is fine for a few SKUs and breaks down once you have a real catalog or add products often enough to forget.
How it works: install via OAuth, and from then on every new product gets a QR code generated and attached as a product image via webhook. There’s also a direct API with a bulk endpoint for a one-time pass over an existing catalog.
Fees, transparently: there’s a free tier for trying the direct API (100 renders/month). The Shopify automation itself is $19/month; a $9/month tier exists for API-only use without the Shopify install.
This is a brand new app — genuinely zero customers outside my own testing so far, so I’d value feedback on whether the auto-attach-to-product-image is actually the right place to put the generated code, or whether a metafield or separate media slot would fit real workflows better.
