Inventory and order total apps - can anyone help?

Hey guys, hope you’re well!

I sell fresh products via weekly pre-orders on my website, www.elis.com.au
Looking for some apps that would make my week a lot easier… would appreciate any advice or recommendations!

  1. Is there an app I can use to schedule/automate Pre-order products to go out of stock at a certain time of the week, every week? i.e. My cutoff time for pre-orders is 5pm every Thursday.

  2. Is there an app that can schedule/automate pre-order items to be in stock at a certain time of the week, every week? i.e. My orders open 8am Monday morning.

  3. Finally, is there an app that can tally up all items in all orders for the week, including variations - and then export to a spreadsheet or something? e.g. 3 Poke Bowls with Fresh Salmon, 1 Poke Bowls with Tofu, 5 Poke Bowls with Cooked Salmon.

Currently spend a good amount of my Thursday manually adding up all items from that weeks orders… would be great if I could automate something…

Thanks so much guys :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Sounds like your business operates like this:

You take preorders starting on Monday. You stop taking preorders on Thursday at 5PM. You would ideally get a CSV export of all preordered items, which I assume you then produce/cook, and then fulfill. Then, the cycle starts again.

So you need the shop to accept preorders from a window of time, then move all items to out of stock, export the data. And rinse/repeat.

What an awesome and niche idea. I don’t know if anything like this exists on the app marketplace. I would like to potentially build this for you.

Mipler Reports can generate and send you weekly reports with all required items. We already providing a very similar solution for a few Healthy Meal Delivery stores.

After installation, contact our support team and we will configure the weekly report.

Hey, wow that would be amazing!

Hey, @emerel96 .

Rio here from the Shopify Community team.

Thanks for reaching out to us. This sounds like an awesome way to make your weekly pre-order process easier. Here are a few apps that we think could help:

  • Pre-order Restack app: This app can help you schedule and automate pre-order products to go out of stock at a certain time of the week, every week. It can also help you schedule and automate pre-order items to be in stock at a certain time of the week, every week. Additionally, it can tally up all items in all orders for the week, including variations, and export them to a spreadsheet.

  • Pre-Order Now WOD app: This app allows you to apply automatic discounts to pre-orders, collect partial payments, and retrieve the balance before shipping. It also sends automated back-in-stock email notifications and has stylish pre-order “badges” over product images on product pages.

  • Pre-Order Globo app: This app enables a pre-order button for out-of-stock products or any product on Shopify. It also allows for partial payment and automatic discounts on pre-orders, presales, and backorders. Additionally, it has a custom delivery note like “Delivery in 21-30 days” below the pre-order button and sends automatic back-in-stock notifications to subscribers.

We suggest checking out each of these apps and seeing which one works best for you. You don’t have to use all of them, just pick the one that fits your needs the most.

As a growth tip, I would also recommend collecting the phone numbers and sending SMS text message campaigns when your pre-orders go live. It sounds like you have an audience base that loves your product and this can be really helpful for you to be able to gauge your pre-orders in the future based on SMS reach out.

Hello! I’m glad to hear that you’re looking for ways to make your week easier. I can definitely help you with some app recommendations that can assist you with your pre-orders and order management. Here are some suggestions:

For automating the process of marking pre-order products as out of stock at a specific time every week, you can consider using an inventory management app. Two popular options are:

Shopify: If your website is built on the Shopify platform, you can use the built-in inventory management features to set specific stock availability times. This way, you can automate the process of making pre-order products go out of stock at the desired cutoff time.

TradeGecko: TradeGecko is an inventory management software that integrates with various e-commerce platforms, including Shopify. It provides advanced inventory control features that allow you to set automated stock adjustments based on specific schedules.

To schedule and automate pre-order items to be in stock at a certain time every week, you can use a pre-order management app. One recommended app is:

Pre-Order Manager by SpurIT: This Shopify app allows you to create and manage pre-orders on your website. It includes features such as setting release dates and automating product availability. You can schedule pre-orders to be in stock at specific times, such as 8 am on Monday morning.

For tallying up all items in your orders, including variations, and exporting the data to a spreadsheet, you can use an order management app or an automation tool. Here are a couple of options:

OrderMetrics: OrderMetrics is an analytics and reporting tool that integrates with various e-commerce platforms. It provides detailed insights into your order data, including the ability to break down sales by product variations. You can export the data to a spreadsheet for further analysis or record-keeping.

Zapier: Zapier is an automation tool that connects different apps together. By integrating your e-commerce platform with a spreadsheet app like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, you can create automated workflows to tally up and export your order data. You can customize the automation to fit your specific requirements.

Additionally, if you’re looking to manage delivery dates and shipping rates, you can consider using the “Delivery Date and Shipping Rates” app for your website. This app allows you to set specific delivery dates for orders and customize shipping rates based on various factors such as weight, destination, or order value. It helps streamline the process of managing delivery schedules and calculating accurate shipping costs for your customers.

By leveraging these recommended apps, including the “Delivery Date and Shipping Rates” app, you can automate various aspects of your pre-order process, streamline order management, and enhance the overall customer experience on your website.

Remember to explore these app options further to ensure they meet your specific needs and integrate well with your existing website and tools.
