An App Provider so no, it seems Shopify has taken away the ability to save reasons. But, as an app provider we still can allow that because we’re managing the functionality and storing the reason data.
Thanks for that - I’ll look into your plan/s. However, it doesn’t change the reality that the reasons for stock adjustments is a basic legal compliance requirement, and important safety for employees, so it’s completely unbelievable that Shopify would remove it. Brainless!
How long has your app been operating for please?
We’ve been in operation since April of 2025, but have only been available on the app store since January of 2026.
It seems that Shopify brought back the adjustment reasons. I seem to be able to add a reason such as “Damaged” now.
Just noticed I can adjust the stock to go to unavailable category again with reasons like safety stock or damaged. Just wanted to say thanks for changing it to work again.
If anyone comes to this thread looking for ways to add their own custom reasons for inventory adjustment, Inventory Guardian has recently added a feature to do just that. You can set your own reasons, map them to a Shopify reason, and filter and export all of the data you require from the app
