Our product is ice cream. we have 3 fulfillment centers around the USA.
Is there a way to make only certain flavors available to people based on their location? In other words, if we’re temporarily out of stock in our California warehouse for vanilla, we wouldn’t want people in California to be able to order that flavor online
But, at that same moment, we might have plenty of Vanilla in our New York warehouse, so people from New York can order Vanilla.
We wouldn’t want to have to fulfill the California order from the NY warehouse because of the very high shipping cost. It would be better for us to just not let the california person order that flavor.
Any apps to do this? any other ideas?
Everything I’ve found seems to help with inventory in multiple locations, but only for retail stores…not for ecom fulfillment
How would the inventory of each warehouse be communicated with the Shopify Admin? Do the warehouses use inventory management software that has an API where the Shopify Store could request inventory information?
I would like to find an app that can do that. shopify can keep track of inventory and it has shipping rate logic…could we just apply inventory logic? like, when somebody is from a certain list of states, they will be shown the inventory from a certain warehouse. then, if/when they order, the inventory shopify has on record for that warehouse would be reduced.
Basically, we just need to assign a customer (or geographic region) to a warehouse, and go from there
