Inventory managment between multiple stores

Topic summary

Topic: How to manage and view inventory across multiple stores using Shopify POS, and whether POS sales adjust stock.

Key guidance:

  • To view inventory by location: go to Products > Inventory (link provided for detailed steps). You can also export inventory to a CSV for broader analysis.
  • POS sales reduce inventory from the specific location configured for that POS device.

Clarifications provided:

  • Per-location inventory visibility is supported via the Inventory view and CSV export.
  • Stock deduction occurs automatically on sale from the assigned location.

Open point:

  • The original question asked about seeing a “total” inventory across stores. The reply confirms per-location viewing and CSV export but does not explicitly confirm a consolidated total view within the interface.

Status: Largely resolved for per-location tracking and POS behavior; consolidated totals may need further clarification.

Hi everybody,

We are using Shopify POS and can’t find how we can see the inventory of each of our stores.

Can we see the inventory total and of each store?

And when someone does a sale from the shopify POS does it takes it away from the total?

Much appreciate for any help. Please let me know if you need any further information or if my English made it hard to understand

Hi, @Matt210 .

Thank you for reaching out!

To check inventory for different locations you can tap Products > Inventory. You can also export inventory to a CSV file to see it aswell.

Yes, if someone purchases something in store the POS system will take inventory from whatever location you have set up with that specific POS system.
