Is full refund normal with Shop Pay Installments?

Hello - I had a client place an order today using Shop Pay Installments. She then asked me to refund the order, which I did. She received a refund for the full amount, not just the amount for her first installment. Is this normal? I’m concerned she was refunded more than what she actually paid.

This is expected and completely normal. Even if a buyer hasn’t completed their installments, merchants looking to issue a refund should refund the full amount from their Shopify admin.

Once the refund has been processed, Affirm (our servicer and banking partner for Shop Pay Installments) will apply the refund to the buyer’s installments balance appropriately.
