Question on the DAWN theme. When I went to move over to this theme I saw that it was already there (bottom one - October 22) but recommended an update. Don’t remember adding it, but OK? So last night I updated it to the 3.0 it recommended and started customizing it. Went back in today and again it said there was an update available, so I did it… now there are three ‘copes’? The middle one - the one I was working on last night - has the customization I started to. The new one added today does NOT have the updates I did from last night. I hesitate to continue. Is this a glitch?
Hi there,
Jack from OpenThinking here!
Dawn is Shopify’s default theme. It gets installed when you sign up for a shop.
“Updated Copy of Dawn” means that your Base Theme was updated to the latest version.
Shopify doesn’t overwrite your default theme it creates a “Copy” of it (if you made changes or customised it), that’s why you see it twice and that’s why it keeps saying “Dawn version 3.0.0 available”, that message will stay there even after you’ve “updated”.
let me know if this works for you. If yes: accept my answer and give me a thumbs up! Thank you.
