I understand that you placed an order on a store you believe is using Shopify, and have not yet received the products. That is certainly not an ideal situation, so I will do my best to help here.

Firstly, I’d like to explain a little bit about how Shopify works. Shopify provides the platform that many businesses use to sell products both online and in person. However, we have no involvement in the running of the businesses, or with any orders, shipping and refunds etc. The day to day running of the business is the sole responsibility of the business themselves.

We would usually recommend that you first try to contact the store directly. Depending on when you placed the order, there’s a good chance there is simply a delay with the order, or another valid reason as to why you haven’t yet received the order. When you placed the order, did you receive an ‘order confirmation’ email? You can reply directly to that and the store owners can reply to your query.

You could also try to locate a ‘Contact Us’ page on their website, or they might also have details listed such as an email address or phone number. Social media accounts can also be used to contact the business, and those are usually found at the bottom footer of the website (if they have added them). If over 30 days have passed since you placed the order, and you still have not received the items or heard back from the store, then you can use this form here to submit a buyer complaint which will be sent directly to the merchant and allow them to reply.

After submitting the buyer complaint form I would then recommend reaching out to your bank or payment provider and speaking to them about your options for securing a refund.

If so, you can check there for a ‘Contact Us’ page, or perhaps they have other contact details listed on their pages such as an email or phone number? You could also try searching for them on social media platforms to see if they have business pages you can use to contact them.

We would generally recommend waiting approximately 30 days for your order to arrive. However, if your order does not arrive by then, and you have been unable to contact them, then I would recommend reaching out to your bank as suggested above. They will be the best equipped to help you examine next steps for securing a refund.
