Is it true that the APP digital downloads dosent feature immediately download?
That everytime a customer buys, i have to go in the settings and release his order??
"Digital Downloads: This free app by Shopify offers a simple way to sell digital products in your store. Upon purchase, customers can download their file immediately and receive a link in their email."
How do i do that?
Everytime i test-buy my product the download file isent availaible…….. before i have released it in the settings. Could that really be true?
Shopify Digital Downloads can send the download file immediately after the order has been placed. It will not send the download link if you’ve marked the products as “mixed goods,” meaning that when ordered, the product has both a physical and digital product. If the products are marked as “mixed goods,” then the download link will be sent once you mark the order as fulfilled within your admin.
If you want to use Manual fulfillment because the product contains a physical component, but you also want to send the digital part to the customer immediately after purchase, then you can send the customer a manual download link.
To check and/or update this setting:
Open the Digital Downloads app from the app section of your Shopify admin
Automatically create fulfillment - If you select this option, then after a successful payment, customers who purchase this product are automatically emailed a download link, and the order is marked as fulfilled. Use this option for entirely digital products, such as an MP3 or a PDF.
Manually create fulfillment - If you select this option, then you need to manually mark the order as fulfilled before a download link is emailed to the customer. Use this option when the product is a mix of digital and physical products, such as a vinyl record with an MP3 download.
It would be possible! However, it depends on your business plan on whether Digital Downloads will work for you. If you plan to sell predesigned logos, then yes, Digital Downloads could work. You’ll be able to attach the logo files to your products, so the file is automatically sent to your customer once they have finalized the purchase.
On the other hand, if you aim to sell a service where customers can purchase your time to design a logo for them, then Digital Downloads would not be suited for your business. If this is what you aim to provide, you would most likely offer the download to your customers once the work has been completed. What you’ll need to determine is if you sell your logo design for a flat rate, or if you base your pricing on how long it will take to create the logo.
If it is the latter, then you would want to look into using a contact form for your website so you can collect potential gigs, then send a draft order to complete the transaction. Alternatively, if you’re selling at a flat rate, then it would be as simple as creating a new product in the admin and posting it on your website.
Question related to this. I can’t seem to upload the products I want so that people can download once they have purchased them. The format of the product is PDF. Where to upload it?
