Is it good to write schema for a shopify blog post

Want to understand if I can write schema.orgfor all the blog posts I have written for the website https://armpearlbeauty.com. Its written for the website, but is it beneficial for the blogs as well? Do I add it to all the blogs posts I have in the website. DO suggest clearly what all must be added in schema file for blog posts.

Yes, you should add the schema.org structured data for all your blog posts.

It is beneficial for SEO, discoverability, rich results, and improving how google understands your blog content.

I can confirm that it is beneficial for SEO and AI to include schema.org in all blog posts, as well as on the blog’s home page.

Good luck with your project!

any specific pattern to follow for the blog posts. Should it be this detailed…I mean..just about the blog heading and detailed about the FAQs as well??

Hey @ARMPearlBeauty

Yes, you should add schema markup to all your blog posts, not just some of them.

One important thing - make sure the information in your schema matches what’s actually visible on the page. If your schema says the author is “John Smith” but there’s no author name shown on the blog post, or if the dates don’t match, Google might ignore your schema or even penalize you for misleading markup.

Hi there,

Sophia from Tapita AI SEO & Speed Optimizer here :waving_hand:

Yes, it’s absolutely good to add schema to Shopify blog posts and it’s recommended.

Schema helps Google better understand your blog content and can improve how your posts appear in search (title text, images, publish date, eligibility for rich results). It doesn’t guarantee higher rankings, but it improves visibility and CTR.

Must-have schema for Shopify blog posts

  • At minimum, use Article schema. This is the most important one for blogs.
  • Add these only when relevant:
    • Product → if the blog reviews or promotes a specific product
    • Recipe → for recipe-style content
    • Breadcrumb → improves SERP clarity
    • LocalBusiness / Organization → for brand/entity signals
    • FAQ schema → if the post includes real Q&A sections

Instead of manually writing schema for every post, you can use our Tapita AI SEO & Speed Optimizer to automatically enable Article schema for all blog posts and add other supporting schemas (Product, Breadcrumb, Organization, Recipe, Video, etc) without coding.

Hope this helps ^^

Yes, it’s a good idea to add schema for each Shopify blog post. Even if your site already has a general schema, adding it to individual posts helps search engines understand each article better, which can improve your chances of showing up with rich results.

For each blog post, you can include things like:

  1. Title (headline)
  2. Author
  3. Date published and updated
  4. Featured image
  5. Short description
  6. Link to the main page (mainEntityOfPage)

On Shopify, you can add this to the article.liquid template or use an SEO app that supports structured data. Keep it simple and only include info that’s specific to each post.

In short, it’s worth doing, and it can help your blog posts stand out in search results.

Most modern website themes include basic Article Schema, so you likely don’t need to create one from scratch using schema.org. If your blog posts each have FAQs, you can add FAQ schema to those specific posts. However, in my opinion, the basic Article Schema is usually sufficient; getting too technical with schema isn’t always necessary.

Yes, schema works well for blog posts too. You should add it to all your blog because it helps search engines understand your content more clearly. Use BlogPosting Schema to each blog and keep the details unique such as the blog and keep the details unique such as the blog title, short description, author name, publish and updates dates, blog URL, featured image and website name. This make your blogs easier for search engines to read and can help improve their visibility in search engine.

Yes, absolutely to what everyone has said, definitely add Schema!

Specifically for Shopify blogs, you want to make sure you are using the “BlogPosting” or “Article” schema type.

Google’s E-E-A-T guidelines place a huge emphasis on knowing who wrote the content. A common mistake I see is people adding schema but forgetting the author field (linked to an Organization or Person). Without that, Google struggles to verify the legitimacy of the advice.

If you are doing this manually, just use a free JSON-LD generator tool and paste it into the HTML of your post.

P.S. If you don’t want to mess with code for every single post, I built a Shopify App called ObsessAI that automatically writes the content and injects the full BlogPosting JSON-LD schema (with valid author/publisher data) for you. It handles the technical SEO so you don’t have to.

Yes, it is recommended to add structured data to blog posts not just your homepage or website schema. Sometimes, merchants think adding only organization, website and local business is enough , while in fact they do help Google understand your business, but don’t add much context about specific articles. For blog post, I suggest add schema to every article page. Additionally, for beauty site like yours, you can consider adding Breadcrumb list schema, FAQ Page schema, Organization schema

Try to avoid adding schema for the sake of having it as a compulsory part. Search engines are more interested in whether the structured data accurately reflects visible page content.

Schema is not significantly or rapidly affecting your SEO but it can improve ranking via: helping search engine better understand your content, strengthening EEAT signals, potentially helping AI search engines understand and cite your site which becomes more and more popular.

And if you are managing a lot of blog posts, you can seek help by using tools like SEOWILL (here), which can handle structured data implementation and ensure consistency across your content

Hope this helps
