Is it legal for a bankrupt online store to still accept payments?

Hello,

I have recently made a order to an online merchant that used shopify. However the website seemed fishy as no one is replying to my emails, and I also did not get any tracking number.

After some research I found out that the company filed for bankruptcy on the first week of August, however their website is still operating…

I filed a complaint and requested a refund from my bank.

Now the question is: why is the website of a bankrupt company still operating and accepting payments? Is that legal?

If after 4 weeks you still have not received your order, we recommend contacting your bank for steps on how to proceed. This will ensure that the appropriate guidance can be given as well as the next steps on how to retrieve funds to get this resolved.

Thank you very much, I started a chargeback process through my Bank, complained to the customer protection (Apparently many customers did receive neither their orders nor their money back)

Concerning the Form, the link of the order contained Shopify, however no shop would directly use the Shopify subdomain… I have another link, do you accept by any chance links with other domain?

Through an analysis with built-in I made sure the website is using Shopify.

I’m a customer from a business that uses Shopify. I was ripped off and never received the product. I’m glad that Shopify went out of business.
