Every few seconds there are ducks flying across the screen and I would like to add something like that to my website, but I have no idea on how I should go about doing that… is there any chance someone can point me in the right direction?
They’re transparent GIF files with animation applied using CSS. You would add this code to your theme.liquid so its shown across your whole website.
Yes possible, possibility is not a reason to do something however.
What’s cool to you for one visit that you then forget about can be a massive annoyance to your customers and in turn lose you money.
It’s the reason most browsers have mechanisms to prevent websites from forcing autoplaying audio&video onto users.
And why the tag for flashing text was depreciated, “cool” was used as an excuse to do annoying things. etc etc
Established brands can get away with distractions like this , if the business owner is even aware it’s going on.
Meanwhile for new stores if your not selling duck merchandise or duckhunt video games then putting ducks in the way of viewing the page is probably not a good idea to autoforce onto visitors.
If you want easter eggs, or relevant animations work with someone to make them on brand and not in the way.

This can be easily acheived used animators plugin, there are a lot of the them such as:
Smart animator
Animify
and some work with mouse hover with very cool effects
Just search for animation on the shopify store and pick your best match some of them are free for certain effects and others in paid plan.
