Is it possible to have a carousel on main image to show variants?

There is one main image on the top of my product page https://toltano.com/products/cosybabe-3-piece-knit-set

The variant colours can be chosen via the variant picker drop down which then changes the colour of main image

However is it possible to set it up somehow to also be able to click or swipe through the variant colours directly from the image? Instead of having to do so via variant picker dropdown?

Like an image carousel

Hi @nvisibl1 There is a option in the theme through which you can achieve this, Please follow the steps so that you can solve this issue.

  • Login in shopify admin.
  • Click on the Online Store.
  • Then click on to the Customize button in your Dawn Theme.
  • Click Homepage and select product.

  • Then in left hand side click on Product Information
  • Then scroll down and click on Desktop layout and select Thumbnail Carousel.
  • For Mobile you have two options you can how thumnails or don’t show thumbnail.

  • You can see in your theme that there is a option in the theme that now customer will be able to scroll from the images, they need not to select the variants now.

Thank you very much for getting back to me

I followed your instructions and made the setting’s. However the image remains the same without carousel. Is there something I still am missing? Thank you

Hi @nvisibl1 Have you saved all the changes? Did you have any custom code in your theme?

I saved yes. And yes there is probably custom code in the theme

Hi @nvisibl1 this means the custom code that you have added is causing this issue, so you need to troubleshoot the same.

If you are unable to troubleshoot the issue then I will love it to do it for you, If needed please specify the same.

To Troubleshoot the same I will need the access of your store, can you please provide the access of your store, also can we move this conversion to private message on shopify or may be on whatsapp or email whichever is comfortable to you.

Hi Sahil, I’m having the same problem but since you provided this solution, there appears to be no Desktop Layout option under Products. Any other solutions? Thanks
