Is it wise to migrate a hacked WordPress site to Shopify for better SEO?

I have an understanding of the basics of web design, SEO, etc. I have existing website on Shopify but had another website on WordPress . The WordPress website was hacked and was down for a while but I hired someone and got it all cleaned up. Everything seems to be fine now but my rankings have dropped significantly. I thought moving it to Shopify would be cleaner and remove any historical bad karma.

Would this be a good decision? Also is there a clear explanation of re-directs? Are they needed?

Thanks a million for the reply. It seems I am doing the right thing moving to Shopify. It will make life easier and more secure.

Just to get my head around re-directs now and how that works if the original website is decommissioned.
