Is my account frozen email legitimate?

We received this email. But the email address is not from shopify. Is this legit? Our website is working fine. And normally the payment is being deducted every 10th of the month.

@carmelita - I’m sure that’s fake. Also Shopify doesn’t use sendinblue.com to my knowledge. Report the mail to them too.

Hi, @carmelita !

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your instincts are correct, this isn’t an email from Shopify. The sender and the warning message email address are both not from Shopify.com. This appears to be a phishing scam email that is intended to steal your payment information it seems.

Emails from Shopify also include your name in communications and in the event a payment fails we send out an email for each instance the payment fails.

Our security team will need the details of this email. Please download the headers and attach them to a new email to send over to our safety team.

I also recommend reporting this email to your email service provider. If you’re using Gmail you can use the screenshot below to help you do that.

I also recommend checking your account just to be on the safe side. If you have a Shopify account please change your password as well and ensure that you have 2 Factor Authentication on. Be sure to save your recovery codes as a backup!

If you encounter anything like this in the future, please don’t click on any links and contact our live support team as soon as possible. They’ll be able to confirm right away and take action if needed quickly.

Also please keep our help center page on protecting your account against phishing as a reference. Everything you need to do will be described on that page as well.
