I can understand your concern here in wanting to be able to purchase confidently with this store. For context, Shopify is an ecommerce platform that many businesses use to build and run their online stores. We don’t, however, manage the businesses that are utilising our platform. In saying this, I’d like to help provide you with a few things you can look out for to check the legitimacy of stores, when shopping online:
- The first thing you can do is to check the About Us and Contact Us pages of the store, to check if the store provides a way for you to get in contact with them. If they do, it’s always a good idea to send the store a message of inquiry, or even better, a phone call if a store phone number is available.
- Social proof is also an important aspect of online shopping today, so you can also search for their social media accounts to see if other customers are already following them. An important clue to see if businesses value their customers is to see if they engage with their following on social media. This can be through replying on comments or sharing their customers’ reviews on their own social media channels.
