Hi am trying to set up with Shopify in Australia an on line payment system for members of an unincorporated Club. Do you have to be an incorporated entity to use Shopify in Australia ?

I’d like to share some info with you here on what we can confirm for you and what you’d need to determine for yourself.
The first thing I would need to make clear is that we are unable to provide legal advice of any sort from here in Shopify, so you would need to contact a qualified expert in your jurisdiction with any queries you have about local laws or requirements.
You wouldn’t necessarily need to create a business registration in order to use Shopify, though for using any payment gateway processor (like Shopify Payments) you would need to submit identification, proof of address, and other documentation.
You may choose to nominate a named individual as the account owner, in whose name the Shopify Payments application and documents would then need to be.
There’s good general info on the sorts of bank account requirements (check out the section specific to Australia) and personal identification documents you’d need to submit to use Shopify Payments you can view as an example.
