Is Swish now available as a payment option?

Hey,

I know that there have been discussion before regarding the Swedish payment provider swish. What is the status on this? Is swish now available as a payment option? If not, do you expect to launch it and when if that is the case.

Lulu here from the Shopify Support team. Thank you for getting in touch and I’ll be more than happy to help you out with your question.

Regarding the payment gateway Swish, as it stands it is not verified to use through Shopify and I am not sure if or when it will be. Other gateways can be integrated but because it is not a verified gateway with Shopify, our support scope would be very limited. This is because we cannot guarantee how an external gateway that is unverified through Shopify would work with our platform.

If you really want to use a gateway, like Swish, which is not on Shopify, you would have to hire a developer to set it up as an external redirect checkout that can use that gateway. Here is a link to our Shopify Experts to assist you if needed.

We only require below three details from your end to complete the integration.

  1. Register for Swish as a Merchant with your bank. (Shopify integration will be done using Swish Local certificate) We will help you to generate the Swish local certificate using your Swish admin panel once you register for Swish service with your bank.

  2. We require your “Certificate Password” (This information will be available once we generate your Local certificate through your Swish admin panel)

  3. We require your “Payee Alias” (This information will be available once you register for Swish with your bank, and also Payee Alias will be available, and can find it on Swish admin portal)
