Is the Digicert request for company validation legitimate?

Hi all, three questions, thanks in advance:

  1. I just linked my new URL (purchased through Shopify) to my Shopify store and received an email from Digicert that says that I need to provide documentation such as an IRS form, a phone bill or energy bill that includes my company name, the address associated with my company and my phone number. They say they need this because they are “trying to finish the validation of your company so you can order certificates for it”…

Is this legit or phishing? They include my company name in the email. If it is legit, the problem is that while I do have documentation from the IRS with the LLC name and address, it doesn’t show my phone number. And my phone bill and other utility bills are in my personal name (not my company name) and address but don’t show my phone number - and I’m told by the phone and utility companies that this is for fraud protection purposes which is what makes me question the validity of the email received. Further, I don’t plan to have phone and utilities in my company name since I’m just getting started with this company…

Advice?

  1. Second question is: on my Domains page, it says that I need to verify my email address within 15 days to register my domain. I received the email and clicked the link but it says the link is already expired (even though I purchased the URL last night) and to “check your email for new link / ARV-2” but I haven’t received another email. Thoughts?

  2. Also, is there a phone number I can call for phone assistance with Shopify? These issues seem like they could be simply remedied in a phone call.
