I may have had a store in the past. I went to create a store and they are saying that “bidzbooks” is already taken. I did a google search to see if the shopfiy account was active and there were no results.
To my knowledge, if the username was taken in the past (even if the site does no longer exist), it cannot be freed up for use with another account.
