Is there a change log for admins to view policy edit history on your own website?

Hello All,

I am wanting to see if there was a way to see if any policies have been edited on my store and if there was a way to see the “last edited on” for those pages.

I was able to find the history on the “Pages” tab with our FAQ and other similar ones, but I am looking for the same feature on Terms and Conditions. That is the important category I am trying to track. I am trying to document that we have not changed our TOS for the last several months and for the life of me I cannot figure out if theres a built in timestamp for that one, or if theres a change log thats available to our specific store.

Thank you for reading! I hope this makes sense. (Time stamps are found through the back end on our side showing past edits for “Pages”, but the TOS section we can edit does not show any “Last edited” or change logs that I can find, and its somewhat important.

Little trick: if you open a product in the admin and stick /events.json at the end of the URL, Shopify shows a tiny log.

Example:
https://admin.shopify.com/store/{your-store-link}/products/9954787197241/events.json

But don’t expect much, it’s only basic stuff like publishing/unpublishing.

Hello!

There is no built-in feature in Shopify to view a “last edited on” timestamp or a change log for your legal policy pages, such as the Terms of Service. Unlike regular pages, these sections do not have a version history. To track changes, you must use a workaround like manual documentation (saving copies of the policy in a separate document with timestamps), using a third-party app from the Shopify App Store that offers content history, or using an external web archiving tool to take snapshots of the page at different times.
