Is there a free method to backup my store?

I will like to backup my store files and designs and I am wondering if there is a free and safe method to go about it. I will appreciate any assistance.

Hi @Folake1 ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I’m happy to provide some assistance with backing up your shop information, to ensure this gets resolved.

Storing shop information can be completed a few different ways, including using CSV files or apps. CSV files are utilized to export large amounts of information from your Shopify store. This is typically done to make changes, but can be used as a backup method as well. For more information on CSV files, you can check out our Using CSV Files documentation for further details.

Alternatively, you can check out the Shopify App Store for an available app that will allow you to achieve this. For ease, I’ve gone ahead and suggested a few below you can look into:

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

Hello @Blair and @Folake1

Renars here from Matrixify.

Thank you for mentioning our app!

You sure can use the Matrixify app to export data from your store to be used as backups.

Here we do have a great tutorial on How to schedule automatic Shopify store backup that contains details on what you can backup and how to set it up in our app.

If you decide to use our app for this and have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our support directly.

@Renars hello,

I was trying to fix webhooks to my Shopify store and I read somewhere that webhooks it’s like an external link where you store your store data as it denies all domain names I have from Shopify and my premium domain, will this help out to solve the problem?

It sends this message

Address cannot be any of the domains: claf77-

4.myshopify.com, claf77-4.account.myshopify.com,

aaaaa.myshopify.com, www.aaaas.store,

aaaaa.store

I don’t regret buying a Shopify theme, I think it’s just awesome.
It’s so different from WordPress.
But I was so unpleasantly surprised that I can’t describe it.
There’s not a single free feature.
They don’t even have a simple demo import system.
I’ve never seen such a greedy company.
They don’t even have the simplest free backup system.
100% of the other companies offer free versions in addition to their paid components.
I’m currently using the basic plan and it won’t even let me upload a simple video. It should let me upload a video.
Now I know why everyone is running away from here.

They’re not even in the top 10.

@Kvakunoff Shopify is more secure than wp and it is more performance than WordPress

I agree 100% that performance is far, far better not only that but its far more eazy to work with Shopify, which is great plus.

I don’t complain about sub here, in my opinion the preformace and security goes with the payment. 100% agree.

My opinion is this - i rather pay monthly sub, but to sleep like baby knowing that its covered and my website will be online when i woke up.

Another big. big plus is the support here - i’m very happy with the support. 100% fast and professional.

But what about the rest i said ?

About secure, its debatable.

What about all the rest ? Can you import demo ? No ! Can you import - export database ? No. You cant even export your own website?

I wait for permition from app owners to export my damn website !

Can you do anything without pay monthly also NO.

That is great downside. Everything else, hands down totaly perfect.

Here a few methods which can save your data:

  • Export products to a CSV from your admin dashboard.

  • Designs & images: Manually download images and any custom code or theme files (if accessible).

  • Pages & content: Copy/paste into a document or use a free website downloader like HTTrack (for personal use only).

Also:

Store backups in 2 places (e.g., external drive + cloud storage like Google Drive.

Keep a version history if you’re regularly updating designs/themes

thanks! does this also backup individual pages of the shop? and the blog as well? thanks!

unfortunately not free any more, only the shortterm trial version

AI Hero has a free backup feature with download option.
