Is there a reason adding <br> tags is so difficult?

issue: I want to be able to add a
tag in any given “Image with Text Overlay” module that I create within the Customize editor for my store.

I was directed to this documentation: https://shopify.dev/docs/themes/settings#html

It did not work. Changing “type”: “text” to “type”: “html” did not work.

Please help. It’s hard to believe that this shouldn’t be a simple fix.
