Is there a simple way to add customer notes on product pages?

There isn’t. I’m almost certain some of these very basic features are intentionally left out in an effort to get users in the Shopify app store downloading apps. Just my opinion. Many apps whole premise are based around the ability to add this and other simple features. Having said that there are some easy ways to do this with custom code.
