Is there a way I can show variants as individual products on a collection page?

Topic summary

A merchant wants to display 9 variants of a single master product as separate items on a collection page, with each linking to its corresponding variant on the master product page. URL redirects were attempted but proved ineffective.

Proposed Solutions:

  • Create an alternative page template with manual image links to the master product
  • Hire a developer for a custom collection template modification (development-heavy)
  • Use a third-party app like “Stamp – Collection Variants” that allows:
    • Displaying variants separately on collection pages
    • Per-collection customization to show/hide specific variants
    • Filtering variants by specific options (e.g., showing only gold variants in a “Gold” collection)

The original poster acknowledged the custom template approach might appear clunky and is considering working with a developer. The discussion remains open with multiple viable paths forward.

Hi!

I have a product with 9 variants (master product)

I’d like to show each of these variants as individual products on a collection page (since that particular page receives the most traffic)

And I’d like to link/map each of the 9 individual products from the collection to the master product,

So that when someone clicks a particular design on the collection page they’re taken to the corresponding variant on the master product page.

I tried using URL redirects on my shopify store but that unfortunately doesn’t work in this case.

Would really appreciate any help I can get

Thanks!

One possible solution would be to create an alternative page template and manually link 9 different images to the one master product.

It is possible to customize a collection template to display all variants separately but this is a pretty development-heavy customization.

Thanks for the suggestion, the new page template might look a bit clunky. I think speaking to a developer might be my best bet.

Third-party apps make it easy to separate variants. I own the Stamp – Collection Variantsapp , and we help merchants display variants separately on the collection page. You can customize the settings per collection to show or hide specific variants, filter variants, or separate them by specific options. For example, you can create a “Gold” collection and display only gold-related variants.https://youtu.be/Pdk4JmfJjqQ
