Is there a way to add custom fields to product page that aren't visible to customers on the website?

Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to add a supplier to each of my product listings that are only visible through admin page. I want to add a separate supplier field, so I can keep real-time track of which supplier I use for each product, that is not related the the vendor/brand. I saw that there is an extension I could download, which I’m still a bit confused on, but I wanted to see if it was possible using just the native shopify interface. I don’t need to be able to do purchase orders through it, just a small notes area at the bottom for my references.

Metafields help you to customize the functionality and appearance of your Shopify store by letting you save specialized information that isn’t usually captured in the Shopify admin. In your case, you can use metafields for tracking internal product information such as the supplier.
