I have a shop with multiple bundles created with the Shopify Bundles app. The issue is that we have no way of figuring out how many bundles of a specific type are sold. We are considering two options:
-
Use Shopify flows (based in this thread) but it seems fragile and there’s not much documentation
-
Use a third party app. I’ve been researching for a while and I’m not sure which apps provide analytics in this regard. We don’t need something too complex, just product bundles. It would be great if it integrates with Shopify Bundles app so we don’t need to migrate the existing bundles.
Any suggestions?
Hi @cesalberca
Use a more advanced automation app like mechanic to fill a CSV,googlesheet, pdf , or even as tags, metafields, metaobject entries for the products, etc. Contact me for scripting services.
Examples https://tasks.mechanic.dev/?q=report
https://tasks.mechanic.dev/demonstration-fetch-data-from-a-shared-google-sheet
Or maybe an app like report-toaster( @CloudlabSam ) can do this https://support.cloudlab.com/portal/en/kb/articles/premium-reports-shopify-bundles
But that off-the-shelf report is Shopify-PLUS only afaik, and I’m not sure if there’s automation that can build be built such as through metafields, etc to let report-toaster build at least a bare bones report without a shopify-plus plan.
If you need these types of automation built out then contact me for services

ALWAYS please provide context, examples: store url, theme name, post url(s) , or any further detail in ALL correspondence.

@PaulNewton thanks for the mention. You are correct that we can report on Shopify Bundles. The reason this is a Plus only report is because of rate limiting and how expensive it is to get this information from the Order API. Wish we could make it available to everyone…
We do have an integration with Simple Bundles that works for all plan types. We consider Simple Bundles a much more robust solution, but of course it requires another app.

Is is possible to offload getting the information to some middleware and get it to report-toaster either it’s own rest api, or through shopify metafields/metaobjects (text or JSON)?
I vaguely remember there being custom report features but it’s been some time, getting the data is common enough to build middleware for but creating information visualizations is a big bag of hammers.

I think that would be a stretch. The data is there with Shopify, just hidden deep in the GraphQL API, so not practical to get it given rate limiting. My hope would be that they modify the rate limiting and/or the query costs to get the info.

Hey Cesalberca,
Heddy from Gameball: Loyalty Program & VIP here!
To track how many bundles are sold, using Shopify Flow could work, but as you mentioned, it might be a bit fragile and lacks extensive documentation. As for third-party apps, you could look into Bundler - Product Bundles or PickyStory. These apps offer tracking and analytics for bundles and integrate well with Shopify. If you’re hoping to keep your existing bundles without migrating, it’s worth checking if these apps support analytics with the Shopify Bundles app.

Hello @cesalberca ,
If you’re looking to increase bundle sales, you can configure iCart cart drawer cart upsell app to promote your existing bundles within the cart drawer. You can display upsell suggestions for bundles, create personalized offers based on the cart contents, and even encourage customers to complete their bundle by adding missing products.

Hi @cesalberca
Claudia here from Better Reports.
Have you been able to find a solution for this? If not, I recommend our app Better Reports.
We can create a bundle report specifically for bundles created with the Shopify bundles app, showing the number of bundles sold, their content, quantity, variants, value etc. The report can be filtered for different date ranges or sales channels.
We can also break down the order level so you can easily investigate exactly where the sales are coming from.
In addition to this, Better Reports has more than 60 built-in reports available out of the box that cover many common use cases for merchants. You can schedule reports to run at set frequencies to your email or Google Drive or export the reports in CSV, Excel or PDF format.
I encourage you to install Better Reports and start your free 14-day trial and I’ll be happy to set this up for you.
What do you think?
