I’ve heard many people raved about the mobile commerce trends, made some research and many market reports said that mobile convert better than website, I also want to build a mobile app for my store.
Does Shopify have an app for that? And which one is good and affordable since I don’t have a huge budget for this.
Hey Vipi,
Yes, totally. Mobile commerce (m-commerce in some circles) is a big wave. Here’s a good article that touts the benefits of a mobile app over web in todays’ e-commerce world. The data is strong.

Shopify themselves do not offer a mobile app offering, but there are many apps on their app store that do (called “mobile app builders”). Unfortunately, they’re generally a bit expensive for what you get out of them and most still don’t really give you a mobile app that feels like a modern piece of technology.
That’s what led us to build Hex, which has the lowest starting cost and has an upscale design, leveraging decades of experience in big tech. It sounds like it’d be a good fit for you.
- It’s free to install and demo, forever.
- $20/mo to launch (limited time promo)
- Configure in just 30 minutes

Looking forward to working with you. Cheers!
Converting a website into a mobile app can offer multiple benefits, enhancing user experience and expanding the reach of your content or services. Here are some key advantages:
Improved User Experience:
Mobile apps are optimized for smaller screens and touch interfaces, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience compared to mobile websites.
Increased Engagement:
Apps can leverage device-specific features like push notifications, which can be used to re-engage users, notify them of updates, or prompt them to take specific actions.
Performance Optimization:
Apps can be designed to be faster and more responsive than mobile websites, leading to a smoother user experience.
Access to Device Features:
Mobile apps can integrate with device features such as cameras, GPS, accelerometers, and more, enabling richer and more interactive functionalities.
Brand Presence and Recognition:
Having a dedicated app on users’ devices reinforces brand visibility and helps build brand recognition. App icons on the home screen serve as a constant reminder of your brand.
Personalization:
Apps can offer a personalized experience by storing user preferences and behavior data locally, providing tailored content and recommendations.
App Store Exposure:
Publishing your app in stores (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) can increase visibility and attract a broader audience.
Improved Performance Metrics:
Mobile apps can utilize analytics tools to gather detailed insights into user behavior, helping you make data-driven decisions to improve the app and user experience.
Competitive Advantage:
Having a well-designed and functional app can give your business a competitive edge, especially if your competitors rely solely on mobile websites.
While converting a website into a mobile app has its advantages, it’s important to carefully consider your target audience, goals, and resources to ensure that it aligns with your overall business strategy.

Because of its drag-and-drop interface, the 60min App Mobile App Builder is particularly great for creating both Android and iOS apps quickly and easily. Due to its many features and flexible design, it’s a good option to improve your customer’s buying experience. Also, you can interact with your customers more successfully by using the push notifications.
Mobile apps can be a great way to boost engagement, but they can also be expensive. I explored building an app for my store but found that push notifications, through UnblockedBrands, gave me many of the same benefits without the cost of developing a full app.
If you’re set on building a mobile app, I’ve heard Tapcart and Shopney are good and relatively affordable options for Shopify stores. But if you’re just looking for a way to engage customers directly on their phones, push notifications can be a cheaper and effective alternative.
Yeah, Shopify doesn’t have a built-in “create mobile app” feature, but there are a lot of app builders made specifically for this.
From what I’ve seen (and experienced), app builders are usually the best option if you’re on a budget. Custom apps can easily cost $10k+ and take months, while builders are subscription-based and much faster to launch.
Most of these tools basically turn your existing store into an app, keep everything synced automatically, and add features like push notifications — which helps a lot with repeat customers.
I personally used Webvify for this. It was simple to set up and didn’t require rebuilding the store from scratch, which was the main reason I chose it.
If your budget is limited, I’d definitely start with a builder first — you can always go custom later if you really need it.
Hello @vipi01
Let me be straight forward
Definately mobile commerce helps but only when you have some branded traffic.
You must be at some stage where your existing customers knows you very well, and they search and find you with your brand name. Then only mobile commerce will work.
I didnt wanted to list our app in the answer, but we have probably lowest price mobile app builder. For indian merchants, we have very popular mobile app themes like flipkart, myntra, amazon etc.
