I am looking for an app that will automatically email customers when they order a specific item from our Shopify store. Are there any applications like that?

Have you tried building the flow in Marketing > Automations
You probably can set it up there modifying an existing template like Post Purchase Thank you, adding conditions for LineItems
You can use Shopify Flow to send email to customer. Write Shopify flow to take action and filter products ordered. If you find your product then send email via Internal Task.
You can do this with any of the major email platforms like Klaviyo, Mailchimp etc. You just need to create an “automation” based on the product purchase event.
Or you can just use Shopify’s own “automations” under the “Marketing” tab inside your Shopify account.
You could also use a tool like Bonjoro to send thank-you videos to your customers. These have a bit more of a wow factor than regular emails and are great for getting more repeat purchases and reviews from customers. Regaular emails are fine for giving info about delivery etc. Videos better for putting a face to your brand and building customer relationships.
