I am wanting to make sure that all of my stock has been added to a Collection so that it is visible in my online store. However currently Shopify doesn’t have that functionality. Has anyone found a work around?
Happy for it to be a little Excel magic if there is a report that shows Collections!
To ensure that all of your stock is added to a Collection and visible in your online store, you can use a workaround involving Excel and Shopify’s export/import features. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Export your product data: In your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products. Click on “Export” and select the CSV file format to download your product data.
Open the exported CSV file in Excel.
Create a new column in Excel titled “Collection” next to the existing product data.
Assign the appropriate Collection name for each product in the “Collection” column. Make sure to use the exact Collection names as set up in your Shopify admin.
Save the modified CSV file.
In your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products. Click on “Import” and select the modified CSV file to import the updated product data.
Shopify will update the product information based on the imported CSV file, including assigning the products to the specified Collections.
This Excel workaround allows you to efficiently manage and update your product Collections in bulk. Remember to double-check the accuracy of your CSV file before importing to ensure the changes are applied correctly.
