Is there an issue with fulfilling orders

Currently trying to fulfill an order and enter the tracking but I’m receiving the following error message, even though all items were shipped etc.

“Invalid fulfillment order line item quantity requested.”

So frustrating !!

Could you please provide a screenshot? Additionally, are you fulfilling orders through the Shopify Admin Dashboard or a third-party app?

This error usually means the system thinks the items are already fulfilled or unavailable, but your browser hasn’t updated to reflect that yet.

To fix it, simply refresh the page. If the status updates to Fulfilled, do not click the Fulfill item button again, as that tries to create a new shipment. Instead, look for the small Add tracking or Edit tracking link inside the fulfillment box to enter your number.

But of course, that is my assumption based on limited info.

It’s hard to say for sure without seeing your store setup, but based on what you’ve described, some likely causes include:

  • The order was partially fulfilled earlier, and you’re trying to fulfil the full quantity again.

  • A product or variant was changed or deleted after the order was placed.

  • A third-party fulfillment or shipping app is using outdated order data.

To fix it, check the order details carefully and ensure you’re only fulfilling the remaining quantity. If everything seems correct, cancel the current fulfilment attempt and create a new one manually. Refreshing your fulfilment app’s sync might also help. If the issue persists, it’s best to contact Shopify Support, they can inspect the backend data and correct any mismatched fulfilment IDs.
