Is there an option to setup and initial deposit, and payment on shipment/delivery?

We make custom retail displays for comic book shops and game stores around the USA, and other stores with unique, niche products that don’t display well on standard style shelving.

We’d really like to start taking project deposits up front, and having the final 20% plus shipping/delivery cost paid when its time to ship the displays out.

I don’t see an option to have a deposit due, and the balance paid later.

Also, if anyone knows of a good app add on that would help with estimating LTL and FLT freight shipping for Shopify, that would be awesome.

Hey @gmestrdisplays :waving_hand:t3: Not sure about freight shipping, but the deposit aspect of it should be straightforward with a preorder app like ours - STOQ - that lets you create and manage purchase options.

You can set up a purchase option that lets customers pay a set amount/percentage upfront, and then you can collect the remaining payment when the product’s ready to ship. This should be exactly what you’re looking to set up down to when shipping/delivery is charged too. Customers will see a “Balance due” in the Thank you page and they also have the option to pay the balance anytime before the due date too.
