Hi, I need to provide an unsubscribe link for people who have subscribed to receive newsletter emails so that they can unsubscribe, however, due to Shopify having no “welcome” email functionality this link will be on an externally sent email triggered via a webhook when a person subscribes to the newsletter, as such I am unable to use the standard unsubscribe link that would be in a normal email sent via Shopify’s Marketing email tool. I can see that the standard unsubscribe url’s in Shopify emails have a token parameter in them in order to validate it as a genuine unsubscribe request, so I’m presuming it isn’t possible to generate those externally.
What I was looking for was if there was a way to have a page with a field where a person can enter their email address to unsubscribe, this would send an email to that address asking for confirmation of the unsubscription request. If this isn’t possible is there any other way to get a valid unsubscribe url or let someone request to be unsubscribed? (I’m imagining a scenario where someone has subscribed but not kept any of the emails sent out so doesn’t have an email with an ‘unsubscribe’ link in it, but then wishes to unsubscribe, how would they then do this? [of course they could just unsubscribe the next time they get any emails, but imagine if they just wanted to be proactive and unsubscribe, would there be any way to do it?] )
