Why would you take away lines that show where the states and countries are. This looks so bad and has made the globe useless. Is there anyway to go back? Love when shopify updates without asking and just breaks stuff…

I appreciate the feedback that you have provided us about the new live view. I am going to provide this feedback to our internal teams.
With that being said, you can change the Live View to a map view that will allow you to see the countries and states. To make this change, you will need to navigate to your Live View and select the World appearing towards the bottom left of the page. Once that is selected, you should see the option to Switch to map view. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
