Is this a scam email?

Hi, in the past couple days, I have been getting an email saying that my store is facing potential risk because I used Shopify magic for generating content and Shopify AI for product photos, the email require me to provide my business name, country of operation, store URL, etc. The email address is info.shopify.helpcenter@gmail.com

This email is sent through my store email instead of my personal email. And it is asking me to provide the information above within 7 business days. Please help me. Thank you.

Welcome to the community. You should have searched before posting but it is OK. There are a hundreds of topics with the same question.

But yes it is a scam for sure, you can make any email on Gmail and Shopify will never use Gmail.

“Shopify will only send emails from official domains such as @shopify.com, @email.shopify.com, @em.shopify.com, and @shopify-billpay.melio.com. Emails from public email services such as Gmail, Yahoo, Apple mail, or Hotmail aren’t from Shopify and should be treated as potential phishing attempts.”

So do not click any links in those emails and delete them.
