I recently installed a paid app on my website. However, I’m having major issues on iphones and ipads where images do not load on main page, nor do any images show on listing pages, and mega menu does not work. I’ve had my website for a few years and never run into such issue.
I reached out to the app’s technical staff and after much back and forth, they tell me its due to my images not being optimized for Ipads and incorrect sizing. However, I have optimized all my images on Photoshop (though some images may be large in dimensions) and never had this issue with images not loading at all. App’s technical staff tells me they can help me resolve this issue but this is out of their scope of work and will cost me extra. I’ve always had some suspicion that this issue is just a way for them to try and get me to purchase on of their multiple additional services or even have them rebuild my website from scratch for extra fees. The issue with images loading and navigation menus working with their app seems to come and go out of the blue, usually goes away after I raise the issue with them but now they’re telling me its got something to do with my image size and dimensions and has nothing to do with their app. Before they told me, its due to my browser cache. It sounds fishy because the problem went away for a day or two even without me deleting my browser cache.
Is this really a valid issue on Shopify websites when browsing on Ipads and iphones where images wont load on main pages or on listing at all and mega menu navigation do not load, all because it is not optimized or sized correctly? I have no issue with it on a regular desktop browser or on android smart phones.
