Is website's theme a major factor is the theme of a site?

hi!

recently, i have been using an app for image optimization to improve my site’s speed. The app has reduced image size by 400 MB while simultaneously implementing lazy loading, pre asset loading, etc.

BUT apart from this, my site’s speed is the same.

the support says the following:

what should I do? Should I change the theme

Dom size can be a complex issue, but more often than not reducing, compressing, minifying and combining JS/CSS can be the biggest culprit.
