Issue Summary: Flat Rates Not Triggering at Checkout

Issue Summary: Flat Rates Not Triggering at Checkout

Problem Description: Customers are unable to complete orders due to a “Shipping not available” error. My store uses manual flat rates based on price, but the system is failing to apply them to valid carts.

Rate Configuration:

  • Rate 1: ₹70.00 INR for orders ₹0.00 – ₹497.99

  • Rate 2: Free (₹0.00) for orders ₹498.00 and above

Case Details:

  • Customer Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India (122011).

  • Current Cart: ₹747.00 INR (Should qualify for Free Shipping).

  • Error: “Shipping not available: Items in the cart do not meet price or weight requirements…”

Request for Assistance: Please help me verify why a ₹747 cart is not triggering the “Free Shipping” rate.

  1. Are there overlapping shipping profiles (e.g., some products in a “Custom” profile without these rates)?

  2. Is the “India” shipping zone correctly active in Settings > Markets?

  3. Is there a hidden weight limit on these flat rates that is conflicting with the 750g cart weight?

Totally get what’s going on here, don’t stress… this one trips up a lot of people.

Most of the time (like 90% of cases), this happens because of something simple i dont think there is a hidden weight limit that is breaking your checkout.

  1. The products in the cart aren’t all in the same shipping profile
Even if one product is sitting in a different profile (maybe a custom one without your flat rates), Shopify throws a “Shipping not available” error.

  2. Or it could be a fulfillment location mismatch
If the order is being fulfilled from a location where these flat rates aren’t set up, the same issue no valid shipping error.

Best way to confirm what’s actually breaking:
Just create a quick test product

  • Price it above ₹500

  • Add stock only at the location you’re using for these flat rates

  • Put it only inside the shipping profile where you’ve set the free shipping in

Then try checkout with just that product. I’m pretty sure it’ll work perfectly. If this does not work, feel free to post more detailed screenshots of your shipping and delivery as well as markets tab in this thread. I’ll be happy to take a look.
