Verification: Another participant later reported the button working normally in Chrome and Firefox, suggesting the problem was resolved.
Resolution: The site had been configured to open a popup cart (a mini-cart overlay) that didn’t exist in the theme. Changing the setting to redirect to a dedicated cart page restored functionality.
Outcome: Problem resolved by updating cart behavior settings; no further issues or open questions remain.

Yes, i did. It was set to open a “popup cart” which i don’t have, so managet changed it to a separate cart page - and it works.
