Issue with Applying Custom Font and CSS Styles in Dawn Theme

Hello Shopify Support,

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently encountering an issue with applying custom font and CSS styles in my Dawn theme. I have followed the recommended steps, but the changes don’t seem to take effect as expected.

Here are the details of the problem:

  1. I have uploaded the Giaza.woff2 and Giaza.woff font files to the “Assets” folder in my active Dawn theme.
  2. I have tried adding the necessary CSS code to base.css . However, none of these approaches have resulted in the desired outcome.
  3. I have tried using the font-face rule and applying the font to the h2 elements, but the custom font doesn’t seem to be applied on my storefront.

I have thoroughly reviewed the theme’s documentation and followed the instructions provided, but I haven’t been able to resolve the issue. Could you please assist me in troubleshooting this problem?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the following:

  1. Could you please confirm the correct file and location where I should add the CSS code to apply the custom font and styles in the Dawn theme?
  2. Is there a specific naming convention or location I should use for the custom CSS file?
  3. Are there any additional steps or considerations I should be aware of when applying custom fonts and styles in the Dawn theme?

Any further instructions, insights, or suggestions to resolve this issue would be highly appreciated. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance in resolving this matter.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Kind regards, Omar Elsharkawy

Hi Omar, could you please share screenshots of where you’ve added the font files, and what code you’ve pasted in base.css?

Also, is this font from Google Fonts, or is it a custom font?

Thanks.
