So today I noticed that a developer that’s well known in this community has snuck onto my account and downloaded a app that he must get money from without asking me. I went into my log and see he has downloaded it and authorized monthly payment has anyone else had this issue. This is a shopify partner quite disgusted.
I wonder why your 3rd party devs have this permission?
I had selected the App development which was prebuilt in shopify -
Initiate a chargeback and contact Shopify support with proof of bad faith action from this Shopify Partner. You would have had to approve app charges for them in order for them to upgrade and approve recurring billing charges for the app, there’s a specific checkbox for this so you might have accidentally checked it.
There is an “Approve app charges” which should not be granted lightly.
I do not ask for this permission though I cant’ install even free apps without it.
I remember there was similar issue with The_ScriptFlow whose account was later disabled and he resurfaced with a different account…
One needs to be very careful granting your store permissions to strangers…
If someone is to work in your store, be very careful granting permissions they request.
Usually, even if did give permission to developer approve charges, a good practice is to tell a store owner why you are installing an app, free or paid.
Like tim said, you need to be very careful.
Hope it is not this app
This was who it was and i had reported him.
Sure was this app. not happy at all and not happy with scriptflow either he was the dev behind it
Be careful, scriptflow has many accounts here now under different names and email addresses…
